Public spaces are usually lawns and non-fruiting trees. This looks so standard, and often industrially manicured to conformity. How much better to have fruits and gardens growing in this space. Amherst’s schools have a lot of it, so we are working with them to establish fruit orchards and other food growing areas, starting this year (2012).
